love me some boots

My search for the perfect booties might've finally come to an end.

I've been dying to find some shoes exactly like this. Plus they're from my favorite store (I might be a little obsessed). Done and done.

twenty three

I don't know what it is about 23, but it feels so much older than 22! I just love birthdays. Especially when it includes Cheesecake Factory, setting up new furniture, a family party (including hot pink decorations of course), a barbecue at an awesome ranch with my amazing friends, but most importantly the best birthday present ever- a real job! Yay!! Thanks to everyone who made it such a great day! I'm so blessed to have such amazing family and friends.

Cougar for life

Yesterday was the first day of school at BYU and my first time since preschool not having a first day. Weirdest feeling ever! No new back to school clothes, no new school supplies, no figuring out my schedule. I guess that's what happens when you graduate. I never thought I'd say this, but I'm so sad not to be going back! I loved school. I suppose there's always grad school right...

New York Lovin (aka eating)

So you might be wondering how I've been spending my time here in the Big Apple. From my lack of posts it's easy to see that the hustle and bustle of the city is keeping me super busy! Besides learning lots at my internship, the past month has consisted of a Yankees game, moonlight jazz concert, Amateur Night at the Apollo, shopping/wishing I had money, wandering in Brooklyn, strolling through art museums, laying out in Central Park, and trips to DC and Philly.

But out of all these adventures one activity remains at the top of my list- eating. Yep eating! Instead of wanting to go to a show or dancing or exploring I'm perfectly content going to one of my favorite food establishments. In fact, when asked what I want to do after work or on the weekends the first thought that comes to mind is where are we going to eat. I'm not talking about just any food- I mean anything sweet of course. Ask anyone around and they will say that I have the biggest sweet tooth you will ever find. For example, my friend Hannah and I went to one of my favs Max Brenner and split the huge peanut butter banana sundae. Our waiter didn't think we could finish it, but boy did we prove him wrong. Not only did we lick the bowl clean we even asked for two, not one- two more sides of peanut butter sauce! Done and done. Sad, I know. It's only natural that my list of favorites goes on and on- the Elvis cupcake from Crumbs, banana pudding from Magnolia's, peanut butter donuts from Doughnut Plant, sundaes from Serendipity, cake from Amy's Bread, and concretes from Shake Shack. If anyone needs a dessert buddy you know who to call, you don't have to ask twice.

So it makes sense that one of my goals in life is to open a little bakery of my own. If I just happened to get very lucky and receive a million dollars that's what I'd do. I wouldn't buy a new car or splurge on some clothes (I'd do that with the leftovers of course) but I'd make this little dream of mine a reality. My bakery won't be just any bakery- it'll be a cute little place right on the beach. I'll name it Sun Baked or Crab Cakes or something like that. I'll sell cookies, cupcakes, and brownies galore all baked from Grandma's homemade recipes. The delicious smells coming from inside will be enough to make people want to venture in. It will have little tables and chairs for people to relax, watch the waves, and savor their treat. A sweet lover's paradise if you will. And of course I'd make sure to give out samples of different flavors, who doesn't like a free bite? My experience in devouring sugar is perfect for the job; my background in advertising doesn't hurt either.

Being here in New York has reaffirmed one thing: just go have a treat.

post grad

I made it! Four years of hard work, learning, growing, laughs, and tears. It's official- I am now a BYU college grad! So many thoughts running through my mind- sad to leave, excited for the future. BYU was a great experience that I wouldn't trade for anything. Huge thanks to my family, friends and professors. I couldn't have done it without you.

They say that as one door closes, another one opens. Here's to a whole new adventure! Off to the big city!

Today is a big day. The reason- one month from today, yep only one month, I will be walking across the stage to receive my diploma. Graduation! Which means in one month I will be in NYC!

Here's to New York! Thanks Jay-Z and Alicia.

I'm a Big Kid Now

Two days ago I bought my cap and gown. A week ago I bought a one way ticket to NYC. It's official. I'm graduating. I never really thought this day would come, but here it is- only a month and a half away. Wow. I don't feel old enough to be going out into the real world (then again 22 is pretty old in Provo years). But here I come- adulthood. Bring it on.

To celebrate this monumental occasion my parents gave me a new phone- the Droid. I said goodbye to my little pink Chocolate and I found my new best friend. I'm obsessed. I never knew how exhilarating having the world at your fingertips could be. It can do EVERYTHING plus some. As an added bonus I feel so professional carrying it around! Let's just say the commercial gets it right- Droid Does. Thanks Mom and Dad.

I don't know if it's the disco diva in me or just my extreme girlishness, but I LOVE these Toms! Gold sequins plus helping a child in need, what could be better? I might just have to buy them.

New Movie

For my pop culture class (yes BYU has a pop culture class!) I had to analyze a trailer for an upcoming movie. Here's what I chose...

So excited for this to come out! Just in time for that certain holiday that we all love (or hate).

My fav

So... after much anticipation (and eating way too many chips and cookies) here is my favorite commercial from the Super Bowl.

Friday, February 5, 2010

Happy Friday

Super Bowl Sunday is just a couple days away. As an advertising major, this is probably my favorite Sunday of the entire year. So in preparation for this year's ads here's the best Super Bowl commercial of all time according to MSNBC. Enjoy.
